The Venus Flytrap

From late fall to early spring,

No perfumes exude on anything

Gentle chalice kept under glass

Swept away by Moon tide’s pass

Every fickle feckless time

Caring, holding in her mind

Bees and flies not just debris

Fight or flight and not set free

Sojourns, do they, not from here

Rationale out windows there

Lawful thoughts for debunking

Seeking solace ever sinking

From early spring to late fall

The Venus light, shines on all

The blossom buds in the tasting

Insect’s folly ever hasting.
